Timetable

This app displays your timetable by day or week. Firstly, you’ll need to set up your week. Tap the ‘Setup’ button. Next, tap a day to enter the timings for that day and tap a slot to set it up. Work from the start of the day onwards, as each slot’s start time is taken from the end time of the previous slot, except for the first slot.

Once you’ve got a day set up correctly, you can copy the timings using the ‘Copy’ button at the bottom. These timings can then be pasted to individual days by going into another day and tapping the ‘Paste’ button, or across the entire timetable by tapping the ‘Paste All’ button.

I have the following entries: Before School, Period 1, Period 2, Break, and so on. Once you’ve got your day timings set, you can create your timetable. If you have a 2 week timetable, select the appropriate week that you’re currently in at the bottom of the setup page.

Returning to the ‘Timetable’ page you’ll see that the days of the week appear at the bottom. There will be two rows if you have a 2 week timetable, with week one at the top. Tap on ‘Mon’ and then tap on one of your slots. You can now enter details for ‘What’, ‘Who’ and ‘Where’, and select a colour and shade if required. For repeated lessons, enter the details and colour and then tap ‘Copy’ before tapping ‘Done’. You can now paste this lesson into any other slot.

Repeat this process for your entire timetable, and once it’s finished, rotate the iPhone on to it’s side to see your entire week, or fortnight if you have a 2 week timetable set up. You can set this view to display with the days shown vertically  or horizontally in the setup page.

Each time you start the app, it will open on the current day of the week, unless it’s the weekend, in which case you’ll see Monday’s timetable. If you use a 2 week timetable and, after a holiday, the timetable is showing the wrong week, just tap ‘Setup’ and select the other week at the bottom of the screen.

New from version 1.0.4 is multi-user support. On the Setup page, tap the Users entry to add and rename timetables. The first user (you) can not be removed and new users inherit their timings from this first user. So, make sure you’ve got your own timetable set up correctly first, and then add other users. I have my entire department’s timetables set up on my iPhone, so I can see who’s doing what where at any time. On the main page, the current user’s name appears at the top. Press the buttons at either side to move between different users’ timetables. In the rotated (full timetable) view, the users name appears in the top left hand corner.
